Guidelines for Gifts

  1. The needs of the family have been determined by the caseworker in consultation with the client and are reflected on the case information we provide to you, such as age, sex, items of clothing and sizes, house wares, etc.
  2. Used items are acceptable to give, but please use good judgment. Think- would you want to get this as a gift?
  3. You may wrap new items, but used items should remain unwrapped.
  4. We request that no guns or other violent toys be given as gifts.
  5. Gift certificates should be placed in a sealed envelope with the case number written on it.
  6. Please do not give cash directly to clients.
  7. A food basket should be given to every family, including groceries for a special holiday meal.
  8. The expectation is to fill the requests to the best of your financial ability. More expensive or unusual requests are not considered your responsibility.
  9. We give you all the information we have, as provided by the caseworker. You will need to call the caseworker listed on the form for further details.
